I'm back!

Yep...I'm recovering from my lapse into the distant past transgressions, and making a come back! I think I will start with pics from Marti Brom's CD release party!

Finally Marti went on!

I wore my Lurex dress I got for an insane price on ebay a couple months ago...I expect this dress will make an appearance at Viva!
Thanks everyone for you kind words on my last blog. I appreciate the support and understanding.

Hello everyone....

I have neglected this blog in a big way the last few weeks. I have had some emotional drama I have been dealing with that has not put me in the proper frame of mind to write, and even though I've ventured out and attended a few events, did not bring my camera or feel up for documenting it.

Sorry this is not a fun post, full of pictures of scores or good times and bands. I am just not in the proper frame of mind at the moment. I am excited about a few things these next few months and will be sure to document them.

My emotional drama stems from events in my past. I am 44 years old and feel like I have lived many lifetimes. I am a recovered alcoholic with over 19 years sober. There are still some unresolved issues from when I was drinking, and things from my past I have never resolved. They have been coming up for me this year. It makes me feel raw and makes me unsure of myself and the life I have created for myself. A life that I am very happy with. Those that know me personally, know that I am a very confident person who is at ease with anyone. I have a positive attitude and am the type of person who is not afraid to admit when she is wrong. I respect others, that are like me, and am the type of person who looks for good, not bad. A "glass half full" type of person.

I am not comfortable feeling vulnerable yet I have opened myself up to be that. Please forgive my absence while I am coping with this. I am trying to learn to forgive myself, again, for transgressions I made in my youth.

Grand National Roadster Show....adventures with Cockgrease

I had been a bit wishy-washy about going down to Pomona to work for my friend Rea helping her sell her pomade Cockgrease. She called me Thursday, begged for my help since this show is one of the biggest car shows in California, so I reluctantly said "yes." I am glad I did...it was a great show and it was awesome getting to spend some quality time with Rea. Rea is an amazing person and I am so grateful to have her as a friend.

Rea and her husband's "Grease Rocket" entered in the show to promote the pomade

Friday, while I was outside smoking, I was approached by a guy who said, "we follow each other's blogs!" It was Rick, from Boston who has a nice little blog 59kustom. Now that I am into this "Blogosphere," I am always delighted to meet someone who's blog I follow or who follows mine. There is an instant comradery.

Rick and I

We were set up in the Suede Palace. There were some of my favorite vendors like My Babyjo, and I bought one of the 40's house dresses. They didn't have a size large in any of the prints, I couldn't believe it when I tried on a Medium and though it was on the tight side, it still looked cute! Liberty was also there, and someday I swear I will buy one of their awesome repro vintage motorcycle sweaters! Great customs were in this room, and my buddy Max was working across the way for Gambino's Customs.

Amazing Cars!

Little Mo and the Dynoflos played!

I met Gene Whitfield!
I went to a show to see the Hexxers play...I was a bit shocked at Rockin' Ryan's and Rory Justice's appearance, but they still rocked out the good old Garage
Had the pleasure of chatting with a member of the Cavaliers Car Club from Long Beach

Overall, it was a great weekend! I saw a lot of friends and met some new ones. If you are into customs and hotrods, this is a show you don't want to miss next year.

Wayne the Train Hancock in San Jose.

Headed down to the Blank Club in San Jose last night to catch Wayne "the Train" Hancock. The Blank is probably the best live music venue in San Jose and my old buddy, Cory O'Brien owns it. Cory was a professional skateboarder back in the 80s and we've been friends since 1983. It's kind of weird we are all "middle-aged" now. Where have the years gone?

Anyway, it was a great show, Dorian and some other friends were there, and it turns out an old friend of Frank's from the old Greaser Love forum is playing bass for Wayne now. It was a treat for Frank to finally meet Skip in person, since they used to waste so much time messing around on that board. We ended up going back to the hotel with the band and drove Skip to the airport.

Here's some pics from the show:

Inspiration?

The first photo was a snapshot, I'm not sure who shot it, of some local boys I know and was taken around 1999 at Paso Robles, during the car show that used to be hosted there. The second photo was a staged professional shot by a famous photographer.
