My most favourite gold lame dress was only about $50 and I had to think about it. I have no idea what's the most I've ever paid but I doubt it's over $100!Straight Talking Mama!https://www.blogger.com/profile/13010105224878943505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8750508487270478724.post-55393896545546780862011-04-09T23:46:00.431-07:002011-04-09T23:46:00.431-07:00I notice that CA sellers tend to have higher price...I notice that CA sellers tend to have higher prices. Perhaps people in CA are used to paying outrageous amounts for clothing? That dress would have to be lined in gold for me to be willing to spend that much on it!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01855413111142257771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8750508487270478724.post-41666829055230642372011-04-09T22:06:18.351-07:002011-04-09T22:06:18.351-07:00That is ridonkulous! It is even more frustrating since I like the look of the dress and it is my size - however there is no way I'd pay even 1/4 of that price for a cotton day dress!Miss Emmihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07251628463640473391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8750508487270478724.post-81775017727767572052011-04-09T13:11:43.315-07:002011-04-09T13:11:43.315-07:00I've seen some ridiculous prices on there, fro...I've seen some ridiculous prices on there, from an acquaintance, no less! I really wish there was a way on Etsy to sell how well/quickly a particular seller's stuff sells, and to whom...
This type of pricing is so insane. I guess we can't know for sure how much these sellers are paying for their stuff, but I CAN tell you that a dress like this will be $20-$30 bucks (at most)at an estate sale...granted you do have to stand in line at five a.m. in the freezing cold next to a bunch of annoying old men to get that price :-)
I'm an Etsy seller and I rarely price anything over a hundred bucks.
Oh, well, some people will always be greedy, I guess...Dina@VintageAdvantagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17722717867847557666noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8750508487270478724.post-12825530522341701462011-04-09T10:59:45.560-07:002011-04-09T10:59:45.560-07:00Ugh. It's particularly annoying because you -know- that this seller didn't pay anywhere near $400 for that dress. Even in vintage clothing stores, you wouldn't find a plain dress like that for such a high priceBrittany_Va-VoomVintagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04377031677999463069noreply@blogger.com
