I'm going to do it!

In an earlier blog I expressed my desire (rather OBSESSION) to go to the Rockabilly Rave in 2011. I even got a day job to achieve that goal. One obstacle, sorry to say, was the imaginary husband. He has no interest. He told me if we go to England he wants to go look at castles, not listen to great music and hang around a bunch people jiving, all night. My idea of a good time is listening to music and hanging around a bunch of people jiving all night!

This difference of opinion was going to make going to the Rave nearly impossible. Monday, when I returned from Long Beach, there was a letter from my aunt. It appears my Tu-Tu left me some money. I showed the check to imaginary husband and told him "I'm going to the Rave." He nodded and said, "You've got your own money to do it, you can go."

Today, I sent and paid for a copy of my birth certificate. When that comes I will apply for my passport. When will it be June?

Lucky! I want to go, but dont have $5,000 to shell out either. I actually want to go to High Rockabilly in Spain more. :( Hopefully one day!

The High is the best spanish festival, I've heard, but when it comes to music, the Rave is supposed to have the best in the world. Neil told me since it's the 15 year anniversary, it will be the best ever. Can't wait!

Yeah, I think Josh would have the same reaction however I don't think he'd let me go without him. With the baby coming, I'll be lucky if I make it to Europe before I am 50! lol Have fun and get a goddamn camera!

Rachelle, I'll be almost 45 when I go, so don't you worry, it will still be a blast when you do go!

Wow guys England isn't THAT expensive, unless the tickets themselves are 500 pounds?

If you want to save some cash, look at getting a flight to NY...then to London. Its often cheaper than flying direct. If you want to fly direct, fly out of LAX...not San Fran. Flight is the most expensive part.

Not sure where the Rave is, but the UK has CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP bus fares and even the train isn't bad, you can easily get where you need to be. As for accomodation, book it NOW...and look at a hostel or a budget hotel. You can get private rooms for much cheaper than hotels. If you're going in a group, see about rental apartments.

Food is the only other thing that can add up...expect the pay the same NUMBER as at home, but obvious its about double with the exchange rate. Buy food and cook as much as you can, also cheaper.

Wow that is going to be FUN!
England is the one place I'd choose to go over any other!

PS - You have an imaginary husband?? Is he cute? :D

My imaginary husband is cute, and he's not imaginary to me...just to people who know me from rockabilly shows ;-)
