New at Atomic Frocks on Etsy!

I've been busy finding great stuff to list in my Etsy Store, Atomic Frocks

Unfortunately, I've posted some on the Vintage Swap and Sell on Facebook, so they never made it onto Etsy!

This was my favorite, but it is on Lay-away already!

Aussies in SF...

My friend Rod and his lovely girlfriend, Katherine, came to SF this year after Viva. They live in Sydney, Australia. Rod is a fun guy I met in Las Vegas a few years ago, who I also saw when I went to the Rockabilly Rave in England.

I wish I'd snapped more photos from our day together. We shopped Haight Street, Berkeley, and spent the evening at Forbidden Island

For your listening pleasure....

Headed down south to the land of the pines
And I'm thumbin' my way into North Caroline
Starin' up the road
Pray to God I see headlights

I made it down the coast in seventeen hours
Pickin' me a bouquet of dogwood flowers
And I'm a hopin' for Raleigh
I can see my baby tonight

So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama any way you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me

Runnin' from the cold up in New England
I was born to be a fiddler in an old-time stringband
My baby plays the guitar
I pick a banjo now

Oh, the North country winters keep a gettin' me now
Lost my money playin' poker so I had to up and leave
But I ain't a turnin' back
To livin' that old life no more

So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama any way you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me

Walkin' to the south out of Roanoke
I caught a trucker out of Philly
Had a nice long toke
But he's a headed west from the Cumberland Gap
To Johnson City, Tennessee

And I gotta get a move on fit for the sun
I hear my baby callin' my name
And I know that she's the only one
And if I die in Raleigh
At least I will die free

So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama any way you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me

They belong together....

Now that I have an Etsy shop, Atomic Frocks, I want to be able to share with all my readers some of the rare and unique items that I am willing to part with.

Some items may have a story attached to them. These late 1940s Penney's Rayon Gaucho pull-over shirts came from the estate of two lovers who met in school, were married in the 1940s, and were saved until after their passing. Although they are both technically "mens" shirts, I believe they were bought to be "his and hers." It is my desire to sell these two rare shirts together, so they will continue the tradition of gracing the backs of two people who are bonded together for life.

I just listed them, and they are garnering a lot of attention. Whoever is lucky enough to purchase them, I hope the love the original owners had will grace the new owners.

VLV 16 Pool Party!

This year I didn't plan on going to the pool party. With the weight gain and not liking to show my legs in public, I did not prepare at all. After waking up at 1:30 on Sunday, putting my hair in pin curls and scarf, I threw on a wrap dress and ventured out. After a quick stop at the vendors where I purchased a pink and black taffeta dress, I headed out to see the fabulous swimwear.

I survived another Viva!

I am still recovering....I must be getting old. Here are some great photos from last weekend. I will admit I was a bad band watcher. I had so much fun hanging out and laughing with people, I hardly made it into the ballrooms. Also, I lost my reading glasses and couldn't read the schedule of when bands were playing. My friend Rea is going to write to Tom Ingram and explain that a lot of us are getting older, and it would benefit us greatly if he would print a schedule out in large print.

Because I've gained weight (getting it off! down almost 20 now!) it was a weekend of the Pake Mu'u. As I explained to people, I wanted as much fabric as I could get to cover my fatness.

Enjoy the photos!

Random Friday Night because I was lame and didn't take any Thursday....

 Saturday Night!

I will post photos from the pool party later! I am overwhelmed and don't want to overwhelm all of you! I am sure you have seen lots of familiar faces, and a few new ones. It was a great weekend with old and some new friends.
